The Story behind the Idea

Seva Hour emerged from a shared vision for community care, sparked by a meaningful exchange on social media. The idea gained momentum when Dr. Sikandar Adwani (@SikandarAdwani), a reputed neurologist from Amravati, shared his thoughts on the need for stronger support systems for senior citizens on a Twitter thread by Zucker Doctor (@DoctorLFC). His message was grounded in experience—Dr. Adwani had already initiated offline support groups in Amravati for seniors living with neurological illnesses, creating a local model of care and companionship.

Responding to his tweet, Anubha Bhat (@teatattler), a digital professional committed to social causes, offered her website development services pro bono to help scale the concept. This thoughtful gesture led to deeper collaboration, and together, they envisioned what would become Seva Hour—a digital time banking platform where community members exchange services using time as currency.

From the name and logo to the platform’s features and values, Seva Hour was shaped through conversations rooted in empathy, inclusion, and the Indian spirit of seva—selfless service.

Seva Hour aspires to bring communities closer, empower seniors, and create intergenerational networks of care across India.
